Amanda Ryder

I live and work in Shropshire and have taken up painting again for  approx the last 9 years thanks to my husband's encouragement although as a child I was always drawing, painting or making something  but after that it was a case of having to earn to live and subsequently not enough time or inclination.

 I took a course with the Seasons Art Class in Shrewsbury a few years ago and it was so good with an amazing art tutor. I learnt a lot.

 I mainly work in acrylics but have found oil pastels an interesting medium to work in.  Owls are my favourite subject although my subjects are varied and I paint in a variety of styles and will often add my own poetry to my work.  Some of my artwork has been made into greetings cards. 

I also enjoy crafting including felting and helping my husband to decorate his wooden creations by painting, felting and pyrography.

I am a great nature lover and love taking photographs of beautiful things, animals and scenery.  I help my husband on the farm and a lot of my inspiration comes from here.
