Tracy Whelan

I am an Artist/Teacher living in Shropshire. I have worked for  over three decades as an art educator working in the  secondary sector . Alongside this role, I am a  dedicated practising artist.  My work is a testament to my exploration of media,materials and techniques and a creative curiosity. I believe that art is a continuous journey of discovery and pleasure; as such my work spans both traditional and more contemporary approaches. My traditional practice involves painting realistic animal portraits where I can explore my passion and love for dogs and horses. I have recently included the use of charcoal as a medium into my work. In contrast ,my more experimental practice is printmaking and collage. I am heavily influenced by the visual elements found in the natural world in and around Shropshire.
