Illustrator, Digital Artist, Drawing, Painter & Visual artist
Gisela is an artist and illustrator born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After living in London, Paris and Madrid, she settled in Shrewsbury where she lives with her husband, their three children and their dog, Gaia.
Gisela studied Graphic Design at University of Buenos Aires, and went on to work in marketing for HSBC and study Social Communications, Art & Illustration, specialising in Editorial Illustration. She illustrates books for all age groups, as well as collaborating with international magazines such us Mighty Kind (an award winning magazine for children in the USA) and Lexikalia (a University Literary magazine based in Colombia). Gisela has also collaborated with greeting cards companies, as well as producing stationary and merchandising for events and retail shops. In 2021, Gisela was commissioned by Shrewsbury BID for a project painting mini murals on Openreach boxes. So you can see two of her artworks which feature animals to relate with Charles Darwin, in the streets of Shrewsbury.
Having a passion for novels and literature, her inspiration comes primary from books, but she also from landscapes, nature, animals, people and all expressions of art.
Gisela is passionate about looking after our planet and inclusive & empowering projects. Her favourite mediums are watercolours, gouache, oil, acrylic, graphite, inks; although commercially she primary uses digital medium.
A nature and animal lover, when she is not drawing or painting, she enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, spending time with her family, and enjoying the beautiful Shropshire countryside.
